歌詞は平易で分かりやすく、大勢で一緒に歌う事を意識した作詞だと思われます。この曲はエイズ基金の為のチャリティーレコードとして発売され、大ヒットとなりました。歌詞を読んでみるとエイズ患者の側で励ましているようにも感じられますが、オリジナル発表の時はそういう意図はなかったのでは無いかと思います。

私はもともとスティービーワンダーが好きで、この曲を知りました。
当時はあまり興味がわきませんでしたが、この頃、愛とか感謝とか意識するようになったからかよく聴くようになったんですよね。
